Kerr Mackie Primary School

World War Two

We hooked the children with a launch day where Year 6 children dressed as evacuees and created diaries in role. We also created Anderson Shelters in DT.

We learnt about keeping safe in England during WW2, The Blitz, Rationing, Propaganda and the bombing of Dresden.

Year 6 children designed and made their own propaganda posters. In History, they spent time looking at sources about Dresden and thinking about British motives.

We held a debate to discuss our opinions about the bombing of Dresden and completed the half-term with creating some very descriptive war poetry.
