The Three Billy Goats Gruff
In Literacy this week, we started working on our new story The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
We learnt that a goat is a type of animal, they live on farms and like to eat grass, they also have horns, fur and hooves.
After labelling a picture of a goat together we all had a go at drawing one making sure we added their main features.
We continued our work on The Three Billy Goats Gruff, this week, by looking at rivers.
The goats need to cross a river to get to the sweet grass!
We learnt that a river is flowing water, we watched videos of rivers flowing really fast and then explored how we can make water flow using tubes and guttering outside.
The goats cross the river by going over a bridge. We learnt that bridges are very strong so things can go over the top of them. They have an arch underneath so that things can go under them. We used various construction materials inside and outside to make our own bridges and tested them out by pretending to be goats and trip trapped over them!
